Charles Jeffreys, London

December 2017

I recently had the fortune to be one of the first guests to stay at The Old Fire Station, which is a lovely building steeped in history that has been restored to a very high standard.

The house has two extremely comfortable bedrooms; one huge super king size and a twin bedded room. Each bedroom have their own staircase so are nicely separated. The main bedroom has an ensuite loo and basin with a very comfortable slipper bath actually in the bedroom, which is rather romantic. In fact, with the TV on, you feel like you are in your own apartment.

The twin bedroom does not have an ensuite but there is a lovely bathroom, with walk-in shower and double ended bath, just down the stairs on the ground floor.

The kitchen is large with lots of modern, up to date equipment and a decent size dining table that sits 6/8 people comfortably. The sitting room is large with kilim sofas and plenty of room for entertaining in front of the log burner stove which we used to great effect.

The Old Fire Station is a luxurious weekend getaway cottage as no expense has been spare in making this pretty house welcoming and fun. The owner is a delight and will help you have a great stay in the area. We will definitely be returning.
